Two weeks workshop at HSLU Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts 2024

From 2 to 13 September 2024, I had the distinct pleasure of returning as a guest lecturer at HSLU Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. This year, we delved into the world of Blender as our primary 3D tool. It was an exhilarating and inspiring experience, and as always, I feel an immense pride in the creative achievements of the students.

Two weeks workshop at HSLU Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts

From 5 - 16 September 2022, I had the pleasure of being a guest lecturer at HSLU Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Lucerne. I was able to teach the new elective module "3D Modelling". The module was developed by me. The class of about 2 dozen students benefited from my 20 years of experience with the subject. You can get a little insight on Instagram. It was an intense 2 weeks and I think the students can be very proud of their results - I certainly am :)

Harry Reloaded

In 2017, I worked on the project "Harry". Recently, I decided to refine the character and his assets as the original schedule was too tight to create the best possible version of him. As I continue to rethink my workflow and explore new tools and features in ZBrush, I decided to revise Harry and his assets. Stay tuned to see a revamped version of Harry soon. Below is a little teaser:

Shading 2020 with ACES in Cinema 4D with Redshift

Currently working on a workflow for implementing ACES in C4D with Redshift.

Today I also played around with the new cloth feautures in Zbrush 2021…. really cool stuff! I guess it’s time for a new character sculpt. So stay tuned!

Sculptris Pro in ZBrush

Sculpting, doodling with the Sculptris Pro feature in ZBrush 2018… very nice to work with.

Homer Concept Sculpt

My interpretation of Homer Simpson. The aim is to do a "living toon" in a funny diorama to print out. The mesh needs a proper retopo. I want to learn blender.. so I decided to go for it with Homer and do retopo and future renderings there. It's still an early stage now...

Fantasy Basel 2015

It was cool to be part of the Fantasy Basel 2015! Below a screencapture from one of three workshops that I held during the event.

Speedsculpts

A very rough speedsculpt for today:). I just installed the ZB4R7 patch 3 and setup the Keyshot scene for this guy. More to come....

ZBrush to Keyshot Bridge

Today, finally I found some time to check the ZBrush to Keyshot bridge. The interaction between ZB and Keyshot works very smooth so far. This is just the applied skinshader inside keyshot. I can't wait to try with the other wip characters I have ... stay tuned:)

RASDAR (wip) getting used to the shaders options and settings ...

Flying wip creatures...

Following some wip creatures that I did during the "Creature Crash Course with Bryan Wynia" that took place from Jul. 28 - 22. Sep. 2014.

Some different approaches (how do the creatures fly? What kind of mechanism do they use?) and proportions:

Giorgio wip

A stylized character I'm working on. I'm trying new workflows for creating basemeshes (beard). This character is on an early stage...

FMX2014

Two weeks ago I visited the FMX at Stuttgart. Great people, nice conversations at the recruiting hubs and very interesting presentations ( amazing making-of by John Knoll from ILM). I also was very inspired by the "5D Institute; Pipe Dreams" talks. The weather was also very pleasant:)

Triclops update

I did a rough comp for getting the mood for the final piece. I still want to add several gadgets, fur and other things...
