For the fifth time, I had the pleasure of teaching the intensive two-week 3D Modelling +Focus module at HSLU Design Film Art in Lucerne.
The +Focus modules bring together students from different disciplines to develop practical skills and explore new tools and methods beyond their individual fields of study.
During the two weeks, we explored the 3D workflow in Blender — from different modelling techniques and sculpting to shading, composition and the development of final images. Alongside learning the software, an important part of the workshop is understanding how to approach a 3D project methodically and how to find the right workflow for an individual idea.
Through practical exercises and their own projects, the students gradually developed their concepts into finished 3D works.
Having taught this workshop for the fifth time, it is always exciting to see how differently each group approaches the medium and what emerges within such a short and intensive period.
The students can be proud of what they created — I certainly am.
